My daughter was in her elementary school years and she was one of the teams I coached.
I also coached my son in basketball, but I started my own nonprofit club team.
So kids, you had the privilege to be able to travel.
It's about $10,000 in Oregon for a kid to play club basketball.
And so I started a nonprofit club program, and we went to Nike Tournament of Champions in Chicago a few times.
But the kids fundraised every single cent.
Yeah, and they fundraised it all.
We got our butts kicked.
Midwest basketball is not West Coast basketball.
Yeah, we've made it.
Even if you lose like 102 to five, which we did, it was very humbling.
But the kids worked for every cent of it.
You know, they fundraised the whole thing.
I put on fundraisers so they could earn money.
They had to go door to door.
They had to collect cans.
We did a bottle drive.
You know, I mean, just the difference for allowing people with less to have the same opportunity has always been something that's super important to me.
So coaching basketball, I got to coach Aaliyah Goodman.
