The reason he was so successful, he turned an otherwise obscure agency into the most important medical department in the federal government.
In statutory terms, it wasn't.
But he did it because he was there so long and he knew how to play politics and ingratiate himself with presidents.
And he knew the stakes for him.
He did.
And he was stabbing Trump in the back all the time.

And then he was saying, we were developing this strange relationship.

And he was trying to get rid of anybody in the white house that was giving, uh, counter advice.
And it, it worked.
And, um,
He did a lot of damage, and it's just a cautionary tale that when somebody can't address the argument and can't address rational objections and then has to go back to titles and media and reputation, you know it's toxic, and that's what he did.
And you know that last thing, they didn't even believe it.
