Now, I'm going to be traveling pretty much this year to many of the localities, and so what I'll do is bring back these updates and present them
to the body and to the public.
So thank you, Madam Chair.
Madam chair, members of the board.
Thank you for taking this opportunity to show appreciation for our school crossing guards.
Uh, many may not have realized our crossing guard even has a link through history than the police department itself being founded back under the sheriff's department in 1964 at that time with just four guards.
Uh, those numbers have grown significantly since then.
And we've heard from the proclamation, the number of schools crossings and students, these guards are responsible for.
These guards place themselves in danger every school day to protect our County's children and all types of weather and with all types of driver and pedestrian behaviors is a sign of their dedication and professionalism when they keep showing up every day.
And we hear that not a single death or serious injury of a child has occurred in their entire 61 year history.
That's truly amazing.
And again, thank you for taking the time to show your appreciation.
