And out of nowhere, this brand new baby church is born.
It's real people.
It's really, really faith-filled, all because of what
Paul was doing and it wasn't just Paul there were some other guys with him which is where you get Timothy right dive back into what we talked about raising Timothy's so he barely gets any time with him though right we're talking just a few weeks and then it all really goes sideways and this whole mob runs out of town and he just has to go he's ripped away from these brand new baby believers and if you think back to when you were a baby believer or if maybe you're a baby believer right now it's really hard when the people teaching you are no longer there to teach you and he
He has come to love these people.
They're a family.
He adores them.
He cares for them.
But he feels like he never got to finish because of how quickly he had to leave, right?
And that's exactly why the rest of this letter hit the way it does for me, because from that point on, Paul is writing to the people that he loves, but he's from a distance.
He can't get close to them and he's worried about them.
He's aching to get back to them.
And he lies awake and he thinks about how they're doing without him.
So it's like us with our kids, like, how are they doing in school?
Oh, my gosh, what am I doing?
I can't be there with them all the time.
I can't fix anything with them.
I'm so far apart from their actual lives.
