It's never about being right or wrong.
It's about reflecting where the evidence is for me and also allowing people to make the decisions based on you communicating that evidence in an informed way.
My job's never been to convince people to do something one way or the other.
It's just to try and say, here's how we inform this decision.
And I think that's what really is important, which we're missing.
We get government statements that come out and go, this is what we're doing.
And we go, well, what's that based on?
And we get this term, which is it's based on the best science.
And I'm like, OK, can I see that, please?
And I'm going to give a real thing that does concern me is what are the things about sciences?
Science is often wrong.
It's often about discourse.
It's about discovering issues.
as opposed to the evidence, which is about the facts, what's actually happening.
And I'd love for people to come out and say, we are looking at the evidence.
Let's be clear about what's happening right now.
And that's one of the things we try really hard to do and communicate that.
And that comes on the back of this
issue which Vinny's pointing out which I love his stuff is one of the people to follow on Twitter is definitely Vinny Prasad he's saying when you come out and reflect on certainties or you go against the status quo people should reflect that and and particularly understand when there's disagreements it's probably reflecting there are uncertainties and it's not clear what to do
And once you understand that basis, you can reel back from your own opinions and go, ah, we've actually got some issues here we need to resolve.
