So my whole objective was being a great football player for my parents, you know, but now I don't have them.
So it was like.
I'm done.
I don't care about this.
Whatever, you know.
And that was my mindset.
To my defensive line coach, he pulled me to the side one day.
He was like, listen, he was going through some personal issues that year.
And he told me what those personal issues were.
And all I can remember was us being clowns at the University of Miami, the defensive line.
It was like every day after practice, he had to leave.
And we used to always joke him.
Like, you don't love us.
You never watch film with us.
You never spend time with us.
So we used to always joke him.
But when he told me why he was doing that in that moment, I felt bad.
You know, I felt bad.
And he was like, I'm not telling you what to do, but just understand, do what your parents would want you to do.
