Completely uneconomic business.
You buy power because it's green, not because it's cheap.
people are cheap stuff.
Turns out almost all geothermal in the US is at 200 degrees or 250 degrees max.
If you increase the temperature to four hundred and fifty degrees, you get ten times the six to ten times the power, depending upon conditions, from the same well.
For two reasons.
One is Carnot efficiency goes up, but the heat content also goes up.
So the energy content of the steam goes up and the efficiency percentage, so you get a multiplier effect.
Um don't need to get into technical details.
But now it's cheaper than natural gas if you can get to four and fifty degrees.
Nobody has to worry about super hot geothermal is green.
It's it's just cheap.
Wow.
Right?
And so uh why don't people attempt it?
Because people have decided you can't drill at 450 degrees because drill bits collapse.
Um so I sort of approached it differently.
