Think about it.
Maybe classicism, okay, maybe 18th century, but starting from the 19th century, we we see that the major topic of the European culture is clash, is a battle.
And if you if you think about how Baroque music
Is different from the romantic music.
In the Baroque music, uh the differences between minor and major, between the positive mood and this and the sad mood, between the joy and tragedy, they're both elements of a bigger harmony.
While in romantic music in the 19th century they always clash and nobody knows who will win.
So it's a it's a little footnote, but coming
back to the to to the initial question, I think the the the the European tradition lost this thinking about what is enough.
For example if if we if we think about the major currents of the of the the west western thought, European and American thought, it will be either the the current of the thinking about the excess and these will be people like
Bergson or somebody else, or thinking about the lack, the void, and this will be psychoanalysis and uh and uh of Freud and and furthermore.
And I think w we kind of lacked this thinking about what is sufficient, and this thinking is again coming back to the ancient times, two major schools who are very
enemies to one another.
Stoicism and uh Epicure Epicuri Epicureans
uh they were hitting each other, but basically they were saying the same thing that we need to find something sufficient to us.
We need to find something which is enough.
And I think um I think basically the the um the major idea of Epicureans is to how to find enough pleasure to be happy.
How not to go to the excessive pleasure, how to be, how to have enough of pleasure.
And these are minor things, these are very little things, how to enjoy very little things.
This is one of the key Epicurean thoughts.
And I think Stoics were thinking how to learn to suffer in that way that we will have it enough.
