Nobody denies it anymore.
So it always, it's just so, Jason, you roll your eyes like I do when you read someone go, pro wrestling, here it's not quite on the up and up.
You know, it's like, okay, that's really funny if it's 1978.
Every newscast that ever does a piece on pro wrestling, they have to remind you that they know it's not real and they're embarrassed to be talking about it.
Another example of something that you mentioned, Horne Swoggle and the Soaring Eagle.
What about David Arquette last night?
That, to me, was demeaning as a wrestling fan to have this guy out there talking in that stereotypical... If Mad TV or Saturday Night Live was going to do a spoof on wrestling and it was a bad spoof, that's the voice they would use for someone doing a promo.
It was just awful.
I wasn't bothered as much by him as you were.
I mean, I thought he was going for negative feet.
I thought we were kind of – I think the way he portrayed – I thought he had lost his voice.
I thought he just had a cold or something for a while.
But I wasn't super bothered by him because, in the end, I don't think he – it wasn't like Hulk Hogan was selling for a Jay Leno armbar.
You know, I mean, that was horrible.
But Arquette was kept in the role of being a guest star –
agitator, Andy Kaufman-type guy, who in the end was a chicken and got Powerbombed through a table.
I didn't have a big problem with him being pretend wrestler who fans wanted to see get strangled.
But I don't think anyone wanted to see him get strangled.
I think they just wanted him to get the hell off their television because he was so annoying and so obnoxious.
Maybe so.
