Now, from a cerebral perspective, reading the defense before the snap, trying to figure out who is the best receiver to get the ball to on this particular route, based upon on this particular play, based upon the way the defense is playing at pre-snap Aaron Rodgers could be fine in that regard.

But once every, once the ball gets snapped, if that first look isn't there,

I mean, this is not a team that I think is going to have a lot of success in 2026 as a result of the quarterback play.

I wouldn't have Aaron Rodgers anywhere near my third tier, in my opinion.

I think it's justified to leave him off, but I don't even think he's close.

So let me just ask, because of what you said, what Rodgers all did last year, does that jive with what McCarthy wants to do?

Because I've already forgotten when he was with Dak.

They wanted to throw the ball down the field, right?

He wasn't running dink and dunk with Dak.

Is what McCarthy wants as an offense going to work with Roger's skill set currently?

I was baffled by the hire of McCarthy because it's so different than the way that the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise and organization went out and acquired coaches.

They would go younger, more creative, more aggressive coaches, get them very early on in their career, and then live with that.

for decades.

And here we've got something vastly different with McCarthy, who doesn't have decades left of coaching and failed where he was last year in Dallas after leaving the Green Bay Packers organization where he kind of cut his teeth for so long.

I think it's going to be difficult.

Now, he had familiarity with Rodgers.

But you remember, you're old enough, I remember, J-Mac, the issues that Rodgers had with McCarthy in Green Bay at times.

And some of those were made public.

Rogers is downplaying that, saying that he loves McCarthy as a person.
