It's the same kind of energy.
It's the same type of thing that's traveling as electrical signals through your audio system, right?
Just at different energy levels and different frequencies and all of that, right?
But it's the same underlying stuff, right?
Okay.
And electromagnetic energy, electromagnetic radiation, whatever, it travels through physical mediums at speeds that depend on frequency.
So white light turns into a rainbow because red light moves slower through that than blue light does.
And so they change speeds more.
And so they bend more as they travel through the prism.
copper wire silver wire etc they do the same kind of thing to an audio signal because again that electromagnetic energy is the same kind of stuff moving through the wire as light going through a prism right it's all on the same electromagnetic spectrum and so it counters physical medium and it travels through the physical medium at different speeds that depend on frequency
That can become of particular importance with something like a transient, which is a real, you know, as we discussed in our terms episode is a really quick one shot deal.
And if you mess them up at all in the time domain, our perception of timbre can change.

Right.
And so that's like the, the physical mechanism behind why cabling can make a little bit of tonal difference.

generally not a lot no um another thing that i've heard um like i've heard change swapping out ddcs do this so digital to digital converters usb in and then digit different kinds of digital audio out okay um and also in cabling um the people are really gonna hate this because i went from like oem standard
you know, came with the DAC USB cables to like audio quest forest or audio quest cinnamon USB cables.
I was most surprised by how much more impactful the base was coming through those, those USB cables.
And I'm like, it's going to sound so much cleaner and smoother.
