Like network noise, if you have it, it's because probably your data lines, your actual cables, your Cat5 cables or whatever, are not well shielded.

And so they are acting as antenna for electrical interference, electromagnetic interference.

And again, the, the, all of that data travels digitally.

So the ones and zeros aren't lost because it's data it's, it's error corrected.

It's checksummed.

It's all of that, but that checksumming process is ignoring the noise entirely.

And so if it's not properly galvanically isolated at either end, then yeah, that noise can get, can get through.

It was an expectation bias, Jim.

You did it because you expected to hear – I'm sorry.

I'm pulling your chain on that.

Yeah, we might have to do a whole episode where I rant about biases and the placebo effect because there are a lot of people who don't understand those things the way they think they do.

Or they don't understand them as well as they think they do.

I am really uncomfortable using the term placebo in the context of audio.

For one thing, because of what we were just talking about there, there are – even if they're tiny, there are small electromagnetic changes in the signal like going from silver to copper wire or –

swapping out a power you put a power conditioner in the line and all that you can actually get some measurable changes in the electrical behavior whether or not that converts to audible changes is not determined you know

at least from a, like a peer reviewed sense.

Okay.

But that also first kills the condition for placebo because for placebo, like there has to be a complete non no impact thing.

Like it does nothing.

They got a sugar pill or a saline injection.
