But I think literature is like a inherently social exchange.
So if we're thinking about that, like an exchange of empathy, then how, what does the reader get from me, right?
And so I was asking myself what I want as a reader.
I want to be entertained and I want to be surprised and I want, like, interesting language and stuff like that.
And I also don't want to be made to stare at something incredibly traumatic head on.
We were talking about the shifting eyes.
That's exactly it.

this idea of the kind of shifting lens so that we're not staring at something head on but actually the reader is maybe invited to look at something from several different angles or around something from several different angles.
That's physical theatre by the way.

you know right so like when we're talking about okay so at the moment there's the boy rabbit yeah as he kind of as we understand it and there's the the kind of more chronological story of the mother and then there's uh another smaller character called alma that joins in and then there's a uh the kind of narrative strategy of
