I couldn't understand why would you leave me on the bench.
But no, I just wanted to play.
I love playing football and wanted to win.
It was, and it was probably the most difficult decision I've had to make in my career.
It was to leave Everton.
It was Manchester United come in and they had the pull of the Champions League, of Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Scholes, playing with these Ryan Giggs, playing with these players.
I was thinking, do I want to... I looked at Everton at the time and there was no... We were never going to be challenging for them in them competitions.
And I think Everton were in a lot of trouble at the time.
They needed the money.
So I think between us, it was the right decision at the time.
And going to Manchester United, they...
As obviously the years have shown, I won a lot of trophies and scored a lot of goals, but I think for me, for Everton at the time, it was the right decision.
Yeah, I was obviously a bit nervous when you first walk in, but I knew from the England squad, I knew, you know, Rio, Wes Brown, Scholes, you guys.
So I was quite comfortable in going into the dressing room.
And then I always remember my first away trip, having an argument with Roy Keane.
And I think... What was it about?
From then, we were watching... No, we were watching... Roy was watching the rugby the night before we played Newcastle away.
And he went to get his food, so I turned over and put X Factor on and hit the remote.
So he weren't happy about it anyway, so I had an argument, but I think straight away he respected me more for it.
Because you watched X Factor?
