We hit it off from the start, really, and played well together.

I believed that I was good enough to go back and play in midfield.

So for the last five, six years, I've watched players I've played with, how they play in midfield, and I've tried to learn and study how to play in that role from a lot of players, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, for instance.

knowing that that would help me because that would be where I go and play at some stage in my career.

I won't lie saying it was starting to get on my nerves a bit because all the talk really, it was similar with the England one, all the talk going into games was he's going to get the record today and I was just relieved just to get it to stop all that talking to be honest but it was a great moment, Bobby Charlton in the crowd as well so I'm sure

He was disappointed, I'm sure, but I'm sure he's pleased as well.

A bit of him's pleased, but no, it was a great feeling and a proud moment for me.

I've never really looked at myself as a goalscorer growing up and as a young lad.

I've always looked at myself as a football player.

I want to play.

You'd have players who were just goalscorers and didn't really do much else.
