I think the 2006 tournament, if I went back and I was in that position again, I wouldn't rule myself out of going to the World Cup.
I had the broken foot.
I wasn't fit because obviously I hadn't trained with my foot and Jermaine Defoe would travel with the team and then all of a sudden we get to Germany and then I fly out and he flies home and I felt really bad.
And then when you don't quite have that match sharpness you make rash decisions and that's what I'd done which obviously could have cost us the game with the red card and then we went out on penalties but if I went back I probably would have ruled myself out and stayed there on.
No, I think I was a young lad who wanted to play.
Obviously, the last tournament ended in disappointment and me getting injured.
I just wanted to go and try and prove myself at world level and it didn't work out, unfortunately.
But I think it was a weird feeling when I got sent off.
I was sat in the dressing room and I was thinking, if we go through, I'm going to miss the semi-final and the final because I've got a straight red card.
And if we don't go through, it's my fault.
So I was like, it was a weird feeling to have.
And it was just, I think that 2016, we were capable of winning that World Cup.
I spoke to Ronaldo after the game in the tunnel, after we both had a shower.
I said to him at the time, I said, the press want to make a big thing about us not getting on with each other, falling out, whatever.
I said, don't worry about it.
I would have done exactly the same thing the other way round.
I tried to get him booked in the first half for diving.
He's my club teammate, but when you're playing England v Portugal, he's a rival.
If I could get him sent off, I would.
