John Kyle was first elected to the U.S.
House in nineteen eighty six and served in that chamber until he won election to the U.S. Senate
Senate in nineteen ninety four.
He rose through the Republican ranks, becoming Senate Minority Whip in two thousand seven.
Kyle influenced tax policy and water issues.
He served in the Senate until twenty thirteen, and briefly returned to replace the late Senator John McCain in twenty eighteen when President Trump was serving his first term.
That year, Kyle told KJZZ he was concerned about the extreme partisanship taking hold in Washington.
Kyle's family said he died due to complications from a neurological disease.

Vanessa Gomez and her husband stood in line outside of the memorial with their three young children.
She said she had met Kirk's wife, Erica Kirk, and they bonded over their babies.
Due to a no bag and no stroller policy at the memorial, Gomez wore her son in a carrier and balanced diapers in her left hand.
But she says dealing with those inconveniences was worth it.
Another attendee, Tanya Ortiz, says she saw Kirk speak at her church in a Phoenix suburb.

There's so many people here that the lines just seem to grow longer, even as I can see people entering the stadium.
Temperatures are supposed to reach over 100 degrees today, but right now it's overcast and not too hot, at least by Arizona standards.
Most of the people I've talked to said they were inspired in some way by Charlie Kirk's activism.
A lot of people mentioned his faith.
