I inherited this.
I've mentioned something.
I've had a friend who actually made knives.
I was actually thinking about it when I was getting everything ready for the Christmas meal.
I pulled out his – I pulled out – he made me a tool steel carving knife.
and it's got a really thick spine.
So if you're splitting a watermelon, it's like a splitting wedge.
You cut into it, and it's just naturally going to split like squashes and melons and that sort of stuff.
I was cutting up squash, and then I realized my pepper cellar was a little bit empty, and so I pulled out a – I just got a mortar and pestle set, and so I was using that to grind the pepper, which was –
awesome way better than my spice grinder because you can get a much more consistent large large but not too large pepper grind and uh and that that actually belonged to his ex-wife i inherited them both they're both they both passed away and i i text i texted their daughter and went yeah i just used your mom's uh mortar and pestle for the first time and it worked really good and i was cutting squash with your dad's nice knife i miss them
but i inherited a from him essentially we just we went over to his house after he'd passed just his daughter was like whatever whatever whatever you want grab it because otherwise everything's going and uh i picked up this among other stuff a glass uh they're calling it a sharpening stone i think it's really more of a honing stone and oh my god
God, like, once you get it so that it's sharp, then start, spend a little time, put something on YouTube, listen to a podcast, and just start going on this until you get a nice mirror finish on the blade, and that edge will, if it's good steel, it'll hold forever.
Yeah.
This one looks like it's actually more of a milky color.
The one that I have is actually literally clear glass.
And yeah, but yeah, it works good.
This one's actually – the one that he has is from Japan and probably cost a bunch more.
This one here is like $39 on Amazon of which if you're a little bit of a knife nerd, I would dive on that.
That's actually a pretty good –
Well, like I said, we hosted Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving, Christmas.
