And so they had this intuition of how it all went together and how this was the saving grace, the capacity to change, not the need to be the same solar picture, but to change with the rhythms of the moon, which were also the rhythms of the psyche, because the psyche is changing moment to moment.
So that was like a big revelation to me.
Yeah, I remember that book.
Well, and the idea of being all man is a limiting idea, not a fulfilling idea.
And the idea isn't just men and women.
It's the male and the female, the masculine and the feminine.
And they are all mixed inside each person, just the way the sun comes up every morning.
But so does the moon come up in its various phases.
Yeah, which is just a shame and a cultural failure.
The first book I wrote was called The Water of Life, not The Power of Life.
I went right for the water because the water is that which connects all things.
It's the reconciling element in existence.
And then water has, in cultural imagining,
more feminine qualities flow and and that kind of thing uh but I've worked so I did a lot of work with men I mean a lot I work with men in prison I work with gangs on the street I work with successful so-called men I worse I've worked with a lot of men and what matters
at meaningful points in life is not the simple manliness.
It's actually the quality of soulfulness.
It has to do with the heart and the soul, which by the way, brings in the body because the lunar knowledge is connected to body knowledge or body wisdom.
and and our body is giving us information all the time but i can tell you the way i was raised as to be a man kind of of what you ignore all that because it is mysterious and it and it makes you like open your senses and and be open to uh imagination more and intuitive energies more
And we still have this binary oriented Western culture that sees those things as less than when in the long run, they are actually more than.
I mean, I'm going with the ancient idea that the moon is stronger because it understands that change is the essence.
