I think on the one hand, we are so starved for somebody to take a Black woman seriously in any capacity.
that it really felt like this one was maybe trying to.
And then at some point, a segment of the movie-going population that has seen this film just got off that train because they didn't feel that's what was being offered and that's what was transpiring.
I found this woman and her energy utterly exhilarating.
I think the dread in those sequences is so intense.
And I think that like the, I mean, the playing of it for comedy.
But it wasn't funny though.
I guess.
