He has the crippling insecurity of his history as a man and his masculinity and what he can and can't do in his failed relationships and so on.
Was that a deliberate theme or did it emerge from the performance?
Because I think it's the sort of people like to, they like to alight on a deliberate subject, but it didn't feel deliberate to me.
It felt natural and funny and...
I think that's kind.
And he's kind of a method actor, too.

It is a satire on method acting, really.
He's in this black bag and he really gets into it.
