My mom always I always liked to write.

So it didn't come out of the blue.

My family wasn't surprised.

Like I always enjoyed writing and uh when I was in my teen years I used to write

science fiction stories and send them to Isaac Isamov's

magazine and get rejected.

So I I mean it was it wasn't totally out of the blue uh that I that I became a writer.

So I think yeah, I mean I grew up in a household.

I mean my so my family we a single parent family, our mom and six kids up north.

And uh she encouraged us in all the art.

So I have a brother who's a composer.

a classically trained music composer who's now who's currently the dean of music at McGill University actually.

Uh my brother Dan is a photographer.

And uh my brother Ian

is an author in his own right.

So he's won the Leacock Medal and he's worked in improv and comedy and he and I have written books together.

And um

Uh my son

Uh, Ginky Ferguson is an author too, he has a novel out.
