He decided to ban the media entirely from the camp in South Africa.

Because after the Ireland game particularly, don't worry, Ireland do come into this.

So obviously France took a lot of flack after the Thierry Henry handball at home, which is this is a disgraceful performance.

We had to cheat to get to the World Cup, yada, yada.

He decided, right, don't want the media anywhere near us.

Sick of the media at this stage.

Wouldn't do press conferences, wouldn't let the media in to watch training, any of that type of stuff.

And so eventually it all goes south.

They were horrific in the group stages.

I think a lot of Irish people took joy from the way that they played at that World Cup and got dumped out in the group stages.

But after the Mexico game, Nicolas Nelke was taken off at halftime because Nelke was not playing to Dominic's tactical instructions.

And then there's a debate as to whether Nelke told him to go F himself at halftime or not.

And Nelke was sent home.

So this was worse than the Roy Keane thing.

This was actually after a game and Elko was sent home for insulting Dominic.

What I didn't know fully, because I knew that the players had gone on strike in between that and the last group game.

And they obviously took a lot of flak for that because France were underperforming and the players decided they weren't going to train.

And my memory of it was that there was almost a mutiny on the bounty that was the French players deciding and Patrice Evers saying, we're not going to train for you.

And Dominic decided, well, screw these guys.
