That is a quote from Donald Trump.
They said people are too white.
We want people who are competent.
we need only the best and the brightest.
We got to stop with this DEI.
So Don, you know, we're not stupid.
He's saying that white people are smarter.
They're the best and the brightest.
And when we went to bringing in non-white people, that somehow degraded the air traffic controllers.
Again, he has no information.
So when you blame something,
on a group of people by race, ethnicity, or whatever, with no information, and you attribute to them inferiority at doing their job, that is straight up prejudice.
Like there's no other word for it.
So there's nothing subtle about this.
And it is totally of a piece with everything that you are reporting and describing here.
They are trying to bring back
open racism, and tear down the norm that we have tried to establish in this country, that you don't do that, that you don't judge people without any information on the basis of race, sex, or other characteristics.
Right.
Well, when he says common sense instead of evidence, just to be super blunt about this, I don't have evidence.
