It was a great idea.
In fact, Affirm is about to go public.
It was literally Affirm.
Yeah.
And but when I was building afford it and starting to kind of put that together, I was putting my own cash into it.
I'd met some guys in L.A.
at the very, very early kind of dawn of their kind of what became the Internet crew out there.
And, uh, a lot of the guys that are kind of, you know, uh, been doing it for a long time, like the OGs now had just gotten there.
And so guys like Mike Jones, who runs science, Mark Suster, who had just gotten there, that, um, is, you know, running, um, upfront upfront.
Yep.
Um, had, had all put money into my company.
And it was the first time I'd ever taken on outside capital.
It was maybe closer to 800K.
I know Founders Fund was in the deal.
Anyway, but that was the first time in my life that people that weren't me were writing checks.
An interesting thing happens when you start bearing all these children that are these startup companies, whether they're going good or bad, they need lots of money.
And when you're doing one or two, it just doesn't seem like that big of a deal.
But when you get up to three, four, or five, it's a really big deal.
And cash is a big issue.
And the problem is you never know in those formative stages whether or not putting more cash in is a good idea or a bad idea.
