You're just throwing cash at it.
It usually doesn't come back.
And I was starting to do the math and realize that this thing doesn't scale very well.
If I just keep doing these and I just keep ripping through my bank account by myself...
good or bad, it's not going to end well.
If they go good, I'm not going to have enough capital.
If they go bad, I'm going to lose all my money.
And so I started to look for equity partners.
And that's where I started to really get involved in a lot of fundraising.
No, uh, Blaine made a bunch of cash.
Plus he had the family's fund.
I mentioned, you know, at the top of the discussion that his dad started Cardinal health, which I don't even know what the market cap at some gazillion billion dollars.
Um, and so the family has a tremendous amount of familial wealth.
Um, and they have a whole fund that they were managing like a PE fund, um, family office.
And so he went, I think he still does that today.
I just talked to him a couple of days ago about something else, but, um, uh,
that's, I mean, that's a huge endeavor.
He did.
Um, and he went back and forth.
The company got bought by private equity twice.
