Um, Blaine got, I think, let go at some point, you know, as private equity companies do, I'm sure he didn't do anything wrong.
It's just the nature of the transactions.
Um, and you know, it's, I don't think he's been there for at least five years.
Who knows?
Well, the first one I was working on wasn't my idea.
It was a company called SwapAlease.com.
And what I loved about it was it was a really simple concept that allowed people to get in and out of car leases online.
And it's actually a huge market and a really interesting business.
But back then, it was way ahead of its time.
You bet, you bet.
And it was started by a family office based in Cincinnati, Ohio that owned a bunch of car dealerships.
So they were native to it, but they didn't understand how to build an internet company.
They'd gotten a little bit of a start, but didn't understand how to scale it.
And I think it was doing maybe $20,000 of revenue at the time, which was a lot considering the time.
But I was building this incubator and I jumped on board, became CEO and scaled it.
Now here's what happened within a couple of years.
Um, they got to about $3 million of revenue on about a million dollars of EBITDA.
And I remember thinking to myself, uh,
what if I could do this 10, 20, 30 more times?
What if nowadays in this new world, even base hits are a home run, right?
