And I think he's got a ton of upside.
And I think if the right team takes him, they could turn him into a really interesting player.
And if the wrong team takes him, you might end up with like a Rasmus Ristolainen, where it's like this offensively gifted 17-year-old, 18-year-old, and you just keep pushing the physical game on him.
You keep pushing the defensive game on him and taking all the joy out of his game.
And I think you might end up with a bit of a problem, but I really, really like him.
And I think there's a lot more to him with a longer resume than a lot of the other guys available.
It's more of that.
I mean, Carol's is the one guy off the board.
He's at 16.
So Carol's, I like Carol's defensive game as it is.
I think, again, going back to the NCAA thing, I've watched a lot of the NCAA.
I've watched a lot of the Canadian Hockey League.
And I feel like the Canadian Hockey League has taken a step back that allows for some bad habits to take hold, especially with defensemen, right?
I look at a lot of the defensemen available out of Canada this year, and over the last few years, I would say.
It's been a bit of a commonality, and we see it with the World Juniors, where they're used to having the game played at the pace they're comfortable at.
They're comfortable at a certain level of play, and they know they're beyond their cohort, so they can kind of push things around a little bit more, but they don't have that sort of high-paced defensive style of game.
And I think with Reed, I see maybe you get...
a morgan riley type of guy out of him where he's very mobile a very good northbound skater with some good offensive tools a good shot but i watch him defend and he's a bit inactive he doesn't really use his frame a whole lot he kind of you know sits back a little bit too much for my liking but again like verhoff reed uh gustafson was in your graphic there uh and carson carrolls are all i would say in the same tier depending on what you like
and what you value, I could see it all being a bit of a wash.
I just think that compared to like a guy like Verhoff, I mean, to me, if Verhoff went back to the WHO, like he normally would have, and he scores 30 goals this year and has 80, 90 points, I don't think anybody bats an eye about him being at least a top 10 pick, you know, maybe even higher.
