So I am vitally concerned about adjusting our moral thinking to cope with living in a world in which we can't go forth and multiply and in which God is not obviously bounteous.

The problem for the Abrahamic faiths is if we blow the world up, is that God's purpose?

And how does it make God's world any more beautiful?
