There's a bit of context of City had three pre season friendlies where half the squad wasn't there and people like Anderson, Haaland only turned up this week for their first interactions in person with Moresca.
Obviously, no Rodri who's on his way, so this creation of a new midfield.

So you've got to hope that Anderson and Buardi, and then potentially someone like Enzo Fernandez can create a midfield.

Gavardio looked a bit shaky in Diaz as well, which is not and again Donorumber was poor.
So when you are w when you are trying to rebuild a side, having those experienced players performing well is advisable to at least give some hope.
