Yeah, C-A-R-G is the Cancer and Aging Research Group started by Arthi Haria over a decade ago and is now grown from 10 members to 467 members as of last week.

Uh in honor of my move to the Southern California area, my favorite band, the Eagles, uh, Hotel California.

I think as Sabria was commenting, um, most patients, um uh cancer patients who are older aren't seen in academic centers.
So twenty percent or so are seen in academic centers like City of Hope, UCSF or University of Rochester.
Um but that means eighty percent are seen out in the community settings.
Um and so what are we gonna do?
Um as we all know, we're never gonna produce enough um geriatricians and we're certainly not gonna produce enough geriatric oncologists to um go out into the communities and populate the place.
So we have to find ways to provide primary geriatrics, primary palliative care or supportive care to communities.
or communities of oncologists.
So this study shows that you can go out to this network with NCOR um that um Sapria um is connected with and helps oversee
t give some tools to those community oncologists and they'll actually start talking to their patients.
The patients will talk to them and they'll have a high quality conversation that isn't just about cancer, but is also about the aging issues and the things confronting patients who are older.
