My belief is that much of the Hebrew Bible, as it stands, is written in the Persian period, or at least edited in the Persian period.
So Persian religion, including this polarity of dark and light, truth and the lie, gets filtered into all of this.
So while we can say, oh, look, there are Bronze Age elements here in the Psalms, most of them had their redaction in the Persian period.
And that makes a big difference.
We cannot just read the Hebrew Bible as, you know, some old Bronze Age mythology all going on, because actually it's being filtered over centuries, in fact.
