My birthday is December 25th, 2006.

So I would be shy of two years.

You make me feel old.

there's a couple things first i want to say that youth is a state of mind all right folks so as long as you are young at heart you are you are young with young to me uh so that's first secondly on gen alphas actually that's a great point about gen alpha because gen alpha the very first gen alphas will be able to vote in 2028 they will be turning 18 28 which is incredible uh and then after that it's gen beta and that's coming up real soon that's all the 2020 kids um but at any rate to answer your question i mean

So many young people are watching the collapse of our democracy on our phones, right?

We saw the murder of Alex Preddy and Rene Good.

And yes, even Charlie Kirk live on our phones.

We're seeing our institutions and our government and our democracy and just our future slipping away from us.

And I think why are so many young people turning towards the far right or the far left or you name it, right?

But at the end of the day, I think people are searching for answers.

When you don't have a system that works for you, when you can't afford a home, you can't start a family, you can't pay off your student loans, your friends are getting shot up in schools, and you've got a climate that's not going to be habitable, and the list goes on and on and on, how can you feel hopeful?

But at the end of the day, I think people are really just searching for answers and community.

I think people do want to feel hopeful.

People want to believe in America and what we can achieve.

And people on the far right and increasingly on the far left, they're selling, I think, a very dark and revisionist story of America based on hate, apologizing for authoritarianism, rooted in intolerance at its core and injustice against a certain group of people, and especially on the right, a worship of Christian nationalism and authoritarian fascism.

I mean, for example, Turning Point USA's biggest accomplishment is throwing a decades-long tantrum about everything that I think is right with America.

And what's made them successful is fear and pitting Americans against each other.

And this is a playbook as old as time itself.

But I would like to say it's not time to throw up our hands.

It's time to roll up the sleeves.
