The Lore Lads
The Cases That Haunt Us | Podcast Episode 149

So no tears in the tent, no tears in the hammock. All of the blood splatter is kind of concentrated in one area. Then obviously there's the bleeding that went down. But if you look at the splatter, that's like in an arc over where his head would have been. Mm-hmm. Wolves don't really do that.

The actual wilderness experts were like, yeah, this wasn't a wolf or a bear, which reminded me of Bart Schleyer, where the RCMP is like, well, this was clearly a bear attack. And all of the bear experts are like, this was absolutely not a bear attack. What are you talking about? And I think what frustrated me most about it was the police just kind of went, I don't know.

They didn't come to a conclusion, which is, I mean, the only other thing I can really think about is that it was, is if you tie it back to the truck, like somebody who was pissed that he parked his truck in front of the gate and they tracked him down and they murdered him. But even then that seems excessive. Yeah.

That's something like Monty Python-level stuff, you know? You're right. Oh, my. Oh, how quaint. I will lay down and die. Tis but a flesh wound. Exactly.

How is David Politis not all over this one of all things? I know. Right. Like, yeah. Of all the cases he has compiled, that is probably the closest one to what he's suggesting, what he's implying.

And I'm like, dude, what? He's just not heard about it yet? Maybe. I mean, I hadn't heard about it until you mentioned it. One thing I wanted to run by you, because I was thinking about it, the timeline of events here, they're pretty positive he was dead by the 10th of October.

One of the receipts, if I'm not mistaken, is dated for... So, no, he sends the text to his group chat of the spot he's camping on the 8th, if I remember correctly. His receipts are dated to the 9th. And then the last phone activity, I believe, was either late on the 9th or early on the 10th.

Well, he gets to the campsite, because here's what I was thinking about. If you look at the directions... If he needed to go shopping, the closest town would have been Ely, I think. The closest town that would have had anything he needed would have been Ely. Then there was another one, which is where the Zups place was. I can't remember. It started with, I think, a C, but I'm not positive.
