I mean, that's just how it's always been.

Well, so...

Well, it's always that, but that's what Planck is talking about.

He's talking about you can't make an advancement until you wait for the people who are entrenched to basically get out of the way.

And a lot of the problem is we have a peer review system.

So peer review systems work great for keeping out crazy, wacky stuff, but they also work great for keeping out innovative stuff, which makes the establishment look bad.

So if you say, wow, it's been peer reviewed, that's the gold standard.

It's like, oh, okay, fine.

That just means it's probably not totally outlandish and ridiculous, but it also might mean that it's really not super innovative.

The way our system is built, and since Galileo and Planck and now, it kind of works that way because the intellectual aristocracy is the one that's in charge.

So when somebody challenges that aristocracy...

then you get what you get, right?

Well, so the way the training works from a very early age is you get a PhD committee and you have a boss who's essentially God.

I mean, there's no restraints on that person.

And if you offend them, you're out.

So you learn from a very early age that you need to know not to offend people.

So that is...

So that is sort of built into your training from the beginning is that you have governors on so that, you know, OK, this, you know, when when you're when you're starting out as an undergrad, you think, wow, this is exciting.
