Sure.
He's very important for the Americans because the American project is an English project, in my humble opinion.
No, it is.
You won't like hearing that.
It is, it is.
But we're cousins.

And that starts with King Alfred.
And the way he unites everyone on this island is he does it with four things.
He gives us a common language.
He says English is the language because back then we had many, many languages including Latin, Kelton, all these other ones.
He said you've got a common history and he translated some key pieces of work so that everyone had access to it.
And he said that you have a common law, and that's another really key aspect to it.
There was one law for the whole land.
That law would, you know, Americans love talking about Magna Carta 1215.
Actually, it starts with King Alfred and his Dombok.
His Dombok, he publishes the first law for all Englishmen.
And that is the legal beginning of what would become the American legal system.
And it actually starts with the Ten Commandments.
And this is another interesting part because a lot of people who now on the, I guess, maybe hard right say it's not a Judeo-Christian country.
