They would believe that, you know, druids would return and kind of give them glimpses into the future, and they also believed that the deceased would return as well, and, you know, darker spirits and things like that could potentially harm their crops.
So the fires, the animal skins were, you know, also to ward off these evil spirits.
And, you know, they would, you know, as the years progressed, you know, they would also, the belief came in that they could also welcome their loved ones back.
So they would also leave food out or light in order for them to be able to find their way back.
They would leave empty place settings at their tables during dinner so that, you know, the deceased loved one could join them.
you know, when it started to transition into, you know, when it started immigrating, you know, to America, that's when it started and, you know, Christianity started taking over.
That's when it started turning into the next day being All Souls Day or All Saints Day.
And they kind of changed things up a little bit and
they would start handing out what they called soul cakes in order for promises that people would pray for their lost loved ones or their deceased loved ones.
