Population of Kirkwall is about 7,390 people.
They'd meant to order 380 kilograms of bananas, which is about 2,500 bananas.
But instead, they ordered 380 boxes.
They could have sent the bananas back and said, no, we've got too many.
But instead, there were high winds and the ferry was cancelled.
And I think the Orkneys get some quite extreme weather.
And so instead, they just had all these bananas.
So they were distributed to schools and community groups.
The nice thing about Kirkwall in the coming weeks is that as inevitably lots of these bananas turn brown, people are going to be making mountains of banana bread.

There are two wellness points to me.
