So DHS, which oversees ICE, seems to be playing a little bit of a larger role in managing these spaces. matched

in spaces that are managed by DHS, ICE might be a lot more involved in in the security and in the process of those spaces. matched

So, you know, there is an ICE officer um checking people in, taking them to their hearing room. matched

Normally that's not the role that ICE officers play in immigration court. matched

It's it is very confusing who is kind of running the ship here, if these are spaces that are being requested by DHS, if they're being requested by DOJ, who is even running this, um, and w to what extent is there a collaboration? matched

And immigration attorneys would tell you that matched

that automatically destroys any perceived notion that you're gonna have a fair hearing if like essentially the prosecutor is collaborating with the adjudicator, right, in in this hearing that's supposed to be, you know, your chance to s to claim why you shouldn't be deported. matched

I mean, there's a lot of pressure on immigration judges to move through more cases, to even deny requests to uh you know, from immigrants that need more time to maybe find a lawyer or like understand the paperwork. matched

Um, I've previously reported on the so called mega masters, just hundreds of cases being put on a judge's docket in a morning, um, to really like move through them and if people don't show up. matched

that is pretty much a a license for for the immigration judge to give you an automatic order for removal. matched

Um and so matched

You know, for the first time we are seeing the pending caseload at DOJ um drop, like be on a downward trend. matched

But they're also doing a lot of things to to speed through the cases and essentially fast track deportation orders. matched
