What's this idea of even kids, especially kids have a radar for lies.
We detest lies, but the converse, the opposite of the lie, the truth is a much more nebulous thing.
There's factual truths, of course, and those can't be ignored, but there's psychological truths, aesthetic truths.
Like if you listen to a symphony, you're not gonna ask yourself, is this true?
It's the wrong question to ask of a story of a painting.
