So President Trump keeps making the pitch to get Todd Blanch, his acting attorney general, confirmed as attorney general, even during his cabinet meeting today.

The Senate Judiciary Committee was supposed to vote on advancing Blanch's nomination this week, but that was put on hold because of two Republican senators, Tom Tillis from North Carolina and John Cornyn from Texas, who still have some concerns, especially about a controversial IRS settlement deal that Blanch signed off on.

On Thursday, President Trump said in a true social post that he might temporarily withdraw Blanche's nomination and then nominate him again in January once Tillis and Cornyn are both out of office.
