On Israeli social media, people have been circulating this wonderful uh piece from uh Solzhenitsyn from the Gulag Archipelago, where he describes a meeting with Stalin.
And everyone is afraid to be the first one to stop applauding because you'll be taken out and shot.
And he said, people were being carried out on stretchers.
That was the only way you could actually stop applauding.
Now that was not the case here, but what was happening there?
What was happening in the mind?
I can't think of being in any situation where someone received a five-minute standing ovation that I was a part of.
