The pancreas's location deep in the abdomen makes cancers they're difficult to spot and easy to spread.
But revolution medicines molecularly engineered a drug called Diraxin Rasid that could target the most common form of the cancer.
It works by essentially turning off abnormal growth signals in a gene called KRAS that drives most pancreatic cancers.
In clinical trials, the drug nearly doubled median survival to thirteen point two months.
Based on promising results, the FDA earlier this year expanded access to the drug prior to granting it full approval.
