Definitely didn't want to live under, especially with today's house prices, you know, a huge 95% mortgage, trying to pull the deposit together.
It did feel like it was overwhelming.

So they have a program called Defence Force Housing Australia, where you can purchase property through your super fund.
And so to look into that, I've then realised that that was a possible, not just through the Defence Force, but actually you could buy property through your super outside of that program.
Yeah, for sure.
So I looked at pulling together a deposit by yourself.
I'm a single person.
It's quite difficult when you think about the average price of a house or a townhouse being, you know, $700,000, $800,000, $900,000.
But when you've been working, you know, since you're a teenager, which most of us have, your super has been accruing and getting higher every year.
So you've got a pretty good lump sum in there if you can utilise that as your deposit and
Yeah, you can then get a mortgage using a much larger deposit, which is a much smaller mortgage overarchingly.
And you can service it by having a renter.
And then just your normal superannuation deposits are coming from your employer.
I do.
And I do think that it's a balance because at the end of the day, your super is there to build your wealth for your retirement.
But it's when you get to retirement that you would think, well, now I've got a property that I could move into and that's perfect.
You know, I'm setting myself up.
