And in the short term, it feels like a lot of money, but when you're building towards retirement, that's just going to be a drop in the ocean to get you the right property and get you on the ladder because getting on the property ladder, even as a first home buyer is unbelievably difficult.
I did buy in Brisbane.
I bought in North Brisbane, so in the Moreton region.
So it was a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom townhouse in a large complex of townhouses.
Yeah, correct.
I live about seven, eight kilometres out of the CBD, which is perfect.
I rent on my own in a townhouse, pretty much the exact format of the property that I bought.
But it just means that I'm a lot closer to my friends, my social life, the airport, all those sorts of things that make your life a little bit easier.
A hundred percent.
When I was looking at purchasing a property, you know, outside of my super, so with my just salary money, it was overwhelming watching those prices skyrocket and realising that, you know, I kind of felt like I'd missed the boat.
The whole point for me of buying property is to set myself up for retirement, being in my mid-40s.
So now I have that safety net almost.
It just makes it, it doesn't mean that I won't buy another property.
It just means that it takes the pressure off

Lauren actually said to me, the general timeframe is nine months to two years to purchase a house.
And she did say a lot of people just end up buying what's easy instead of what is great value because it is so tiring and they just feel like they need to get something.
They're so supportive.
Most of my friends are on the property ladder, but they also have watched how much more difficult it's gotten almost every year, you know, in the past sort of 15 years or so.
So to look outside, I guess, the box a little bit and come up with a different way to do it.
