That's where I'd say where the similarities would be for me, the biggest similarities, and why these two teams are in the position where they are right now.
The ability to play off unstructured attack or even, you know, phase play structures is a big positive for both those teams.
And I think, look, like when it comes to the Chiefs, if you do look at their tries, take away the counterattack, like they're very, very strong at set piece strikes off their scrum and their line outs because they get such good dominance from that.
Like there were instances you saw with that against the Crusaders, they were able to get a good carry with Quinn Tapaya.
quick pick and go and being able to score a try off that or if they line out more which has been very dominant and then being able to score off that so you know if you are the hurricanes and you're previewing that you know if you can stop their set piece in terms of their launches then it goes a big way to be able to to try and win in this game and i think also with the the chiefs with them kicking long and it's been a predominantly they love to be able to play out of their own half
Can the Hurricanes be patient in terms of when they do run, when they do kick and when they do put contestables up?
Because, you know, they have the best game line success, they have the best attacking offloads, line breaks, all the attacking stats, but can they be disciplined enough if they're not going to get that in the breakdown area and the collision area?
Can they go back to their test form?
Can they kick long and be patient?
Which I think they have shown throughout the year, but at the same time, they have dominated a lot of teams.
Like you look on the weekend, high scores, not really under a lot of pressure.
And I think this is going to be tested against the Chiefs on the weekend.
With the height of what a Cam Rory guards kick game can do, you've got a really good opportunity to be able to get the ball back.
and I think you did see that I think with Morby's try I think you know Cam does a contestable kick gets into the kind of clock roll virus well and then puts it in behind and being able to build pressure like that so I think when you have a nine that's very good at kicking and getting the ball back then you're able to use that kicking game now look at the at the Chiefs now they like to be able to kick long and being able to build pressure from mistakes like they're very efficient if you look on the weekend Cortes at our team and Damian McKenzie being able to kick out to touch and you'd have to think if they do have a strong set piece you want to be able to go to line up with the defensive pressure with Tupo Vai and Josh Lord
um but then i think also the benefits of kicking long um the team that's coming back has to be able to make a decision and if they can stay in that kick battle with damian mckenzie curbs family been able to kick long and if you get a bad kick then you can counter attack off that but then i think you know the challenge i think with if you do that your defensive line from that has to be pretty set in stone because you know if you give the likes of a morby of a hakin of a finnigan awful to be able to have multiple opportunities to kick off a third or fourth kick
it is dangerous but um that's what that's what i do see i just see there's just two different ways of how they how they want to build pressure kicking long from probably the chief side of it and cam roy gun in this kicking game being able to get contestables back click attack being able to use their ball and their offloads and their athletes off that 30 seconds off that i'm getting the ball back as we move down the field and we're having this discussion you know you get into the 22 meter area
I want to be able to go through people and then once you do get that good go forward ball then you can open up your attack and be able to get defenses that are tighter or they're a little bit wider and then aren't set and like you know the likes of a Quintipai has been very good and around getting that game on over the advantage line but I've said it with the Hurricanes the whole year like their ability to see space when it's tight
and being able to get that ball to width through run, pass, kick has been probably the best out of the whole competition with every single team.
So that comes back to people seeing pitches, preparation, and being able to see that space.
But if teams are going to be able to get wide, then they've got the ability to be able to get Amur, Numia, Lakai, Yosei,
