When you are 13, 14, 15, there is only so much that you can do in battling against these ideologies that are being, you know, you're drowning in them fundamentally.

You cannot fight that tide that is pulling you in a direction that might be at odds with your values, but very quickly is going to actually reshape them.

I think that this is a fundamental tech industry problem.

I cannot see how even with the social media ban, you know, it's a pause.

You get to 16 and then let's turn the fire hose back on.

Nothing has changed.

You just actually don't understand how these algorithms work at all and suddenly you're back on and you are watching people

this stuff that is not being in any way regulated.

And so I think that the algorithms need to be curtailed.

They need to be understood.

Our ability, we did this research on TikTok and we had to ask young men to upload their own TikTok histories, which took them five steps to get to.

It's like buying things are very easy, cancelling it is very hard.

Trying to get data off these platforms is almost an impossible task.

And so the safety teams at all of the platforms are like, we'd love to help.

We really want to make sure that young men can look after themselves.

We don't want them watching misogynistic content.

We don't want them watching suicide content, you know?

And when we say, how are we going to go about regulating this thing?

Because if you created it and you know immediately that they are a young man, then you can also shift what they are seeing.
