There have been attacks in recent days on other Middle Eastern countries.
And so they still have some capacity here.
They still are able to retaliate.
So those objectives, there's questions about how much they have been met.
But from the US perspective, they argue that they have been fully met.
Regarding nuclear capability, the U.S.
also argues that they've destroyed Iran's ability to make a nuclear weapon, but the country still retains a large stockpile of highly enriched uranium, which is near weapons grade and could theoretically be used to create a weapon at some point.
The U.S.
has been bombing Iran's nuclear facilities.
It seems reasonable to believe that they've greatly set back.
their nuclear program, but they still have this nuclear material and, you know, it's possible that they could reconstitute their program.
Yeah, Iran has really tried to spin this as well and said that they have gotten everything that they wanted out of this.
You know, they're talking to their own domestic audience and trying to put the best face on this.
But, you know, there are a lot of questions about whether they have been able to withstand this U.S.
assault and maintain some leverage over things like the Strait here.
So they very much are claiming victory as well.
Well, Trump himself has really dismissed this or deflected on this.
And the US military and US officials say that they don't target civilians.
But when you're talking about going after a country's bridges, its power plants, its infrastructure like that, there are a lot of concerns among international humanitarian groups, legal experts, that that could severely impact the civilian population in Iran and could be considered a war crime.
Yeah, so Trump really, really dialed up the intensity of what he's talking about here.
