You know, this is not something that we've heard from an American president in modern times where you're talking about wiping out an entire civilization.

It was really stark and dire rhetoric that he used.

And a lot of people across the aisle, Republicans and Democrats, raised concerns.

um really significant concerns about this you saw in the president's own party people like alaska senator lisa murkowski saying this is not how the us should be presenting itself we're losing moral standing by talking like this and wiping out an entire civilization you know she's a more moderate republican but you also saw people like

Tucker Carlson, who's a conservative media figure who has been very closely aligned with Trump, but has been deeply critical of the Iran war.

And in his show, he talked about this being morally depraved and a war crime.

And, you know, if you're if you're blowing up power facilities, that there's babies on incubators who would die if a hospital loses a

electricity and so there's been a lot of pushback on the president when he talked about going after infrastructure that could be used by civilians people like wisconsin senator ron johnson said that you know he doesn't want to see the u.s go after civilian infrastructure that we're not at war with the people of iran but the rhetoric that he used caused a lot of alarm bells to go off across the political spectrum
