The head of the AFL Players Association insisted on putting a line in that initial and quite wishy-washy press release: the player cannot be solely held responsible.

Andrew Dillon told us on Saturday, the AFL CEO, that that clause should never have been allowed to have been put in, and he never would have allowed it, and it didn't stand up in a court of law anyway.
